Job description

Department: PHARMACY Certs/Licensure Requirements: WV Pharmacist License, BLS What areas will they cover (ER, ICU, Inpt, Outpt, etc.): Inpatient operations (IV room, sterile compounding including hazardous drugs and parenteral nutrition, non-sterile compounding, dispensing, cart fill, technician oversight) Common Duties/Job Requirements/Skills: Checking medication orders, stock for automated dispensing machines, controlled substances, cart fill, non-sterile and sterile compounding, vaccines, medication compatibility. Phone etiquette and basic computer skills. Experience or 'Must have' skills: 3 years of experience preferred but not required Pharmacy Manager/Supervisor: Manager-Micah Butcher, PharmD, BCPPS Pharmacy Techs?: Supervision of 2-5 technicians during shift along with 1-2 other pharmacists present Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): Day shift, M-F, operations shift 7 AM-3:30 PM or IV room 6:30 AM-3 PM Weekend Requirements: Weekday only Holiday Requirements: N/A Is there an on-call requirement?: No Medication Dispensing System? How does it work?: Epic is our EMR/CPOE system, dispensing from one centralized pharmacy, manual cart fill due to limited use of standard doses for Pediatric patients, stock in Omnicell for automated dispensing of certain medications for patient care units and operating rooms Scrubs or Dress Code Requirements: Navy Blue scrubs Department specific orientation: One day with manager for onboarding, ~4 weeks training with pharmacists and technicians
