JOB DESCRIPTION

 GENERAL FUNCTION

The Sr. Engineer, Quality (Reliability &Test) supports the company's business and product quality objectives by leading reliability engineering, product qualification, and performance testing activities for eyewear, snow goggles, motocross (MX) goggles, football visors, hockey visors and military/tactical eyewear products.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead product qualification and validation testing for eyewear, snow/MX goggles, football visors, military/tactical eyewear, and related products.
  • Develop and execute reliability, qualification, functional, optical, mechanical, impact, environmental, durability, and compliance testing.
  • Develop, validate, document, and maintain laboratory test methods, procedures, protocols, and work instructions.
  • Translate product specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards into test requirements, methods, and acceptance criteria.
  • Design, qualify, and implement test equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation for product performance and reliability testing.
  • Support regulatory, certification, military, customer-specific, and industry-standard testing; interpret domestic and international standards.
  • Lead failure investigations and root cause analysis using structured problem-solving, statistical analysis, and DOE; verify corrective actions.
  • Review and approve technical test reports; analyze results and provide conclusions on performance, reliability, compliance, and release readiness.
  • Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting to improve product reliability, durability, and performance.
  • Train and mentor laboratory technicians.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Product Development, R&D, Regulatory/Compliance, Manufacturing, Sourcing, external labs, and global cross-functional teams.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related science discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, product testing, validation, product qualification, or laboratory engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing engineering test methods, qualification protocols, and validation plans.
  • Experience with mechanical, optical, environmental, impact, durability, or reliability testing of consumer, sporting, PPE, military, or similarly regulated products.
  • Working knowledge of engineering principles, root cause analysis, FMEA,  DOE, statistical analysis (i.e Minitab) , and structured problem solving.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, technical standards, and test requirements.
  • Experience developing or specifying test equipment, fixtures, measurement systems, and instrumentation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, and laboratory organizations.
  • Ability to train and mentor laboratory technicians in test methods, equipment operation, data collection, and good laboratory practices.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 or similarly controlled laboratory environment.
  • Strong project management experience

Pay Range: $109,135 - $140,012

This posting is for an existing vacancy within our business. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
