Summary

The Academy plays a critical role in building organizational capability by delivering targeted technical training in core disciplines, cultivating leadership excellence, and fostering client- and partner-focused learning. The Academy drives to cultivate a culture of innovative learning that delivers property insurance knowledge and expertise for the benefit of our clients and partners. The manager of learning experience design and development leads the strategy related to learning experience design and development in support of core disciplines, leadership and client and partners. This includes inspiring and leading a global team of learning experience designers and developers to deliver high-quality, innovative, and engaging learning experiences for a global audience that result in positive business impact. This includes key initiatives, corporate objectives as well as departmental objectives.

This position will elevate learning to serve as a differentiator in the marketplace as well as a driver for attracting and retaining top talent. This role manages the extensive project portfolio by leading the assessment of learning needs in collaboration with academy and business stakeholders and recommends associated learning solutions.

This is a full time office based position in Norwood, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for executing on and supporting the Academy strategy for all three functional areas (pillars) and Learning Experience Design strategy by directing the analysis, design, development and implementation of learning and development for all functional areas of the Academy.
  • By being a key strategic partner and advocator for learning, collaborate with Academy and business stakeholders to qualify requirements for learning and development, ensuring that an effective learning solution will be appropriate to meet specific requirements. This includes recommending other non-learning solutions
  • Manage team resource capacity to support prioritized strategic efforts with the ability to pivot as business needs require
  • Develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders to understand performance needs
  • Explores and approves innovative techniques, tools, responsible AI use, that maximizes learning experiences
  • Drives continuous improvement throughout all learning programs
  • Create an environment that encourages, empowers and fosters the development of staff by providing challenging assignments and appropriate level of instruction/feedback
  • Coordinate and foster teamwork throughout the Academy
  • Ensure quality, consistent and centralized learning assets across Academy
  • Manages vendor selection and implementation of external content providers
Qualifications:

Required Education

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Instructional Design, Performance Consulting, CPTD, Business Management or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Required Work Experience

  • Managing or leading a team, remote team engagement, ADDIE, active learning methodologies including in-person and virtual, program design and curriculum development for programs that span several months

  • Project Management, performance consulting and business partnership

  • Leadership development at all levels of leadership

  • Assessment and evaluation of learning tied to business results and impact

  • Experience working with senior executives and business leaders at all levels

Required Skills

  • Expert in all phases of instructional design with an agile mindset – Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate

  • Experience with latest development tools including Captivate, Storyline, Camtasia, Vyond (GoAnimate)

  • Very strong leadership, consulting, negotiation and moderator skills

  • Highly motivated and passionate about learning and development as a differentiator
