Job description

Risk Management Systems Engineer
Contingent upon prime contractor approval
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Risk Management Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL working Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Spectrum Management Office (SMO) within the Office of the Chief Engineer.
  • In this role you will work for the MDA Chief Engineer and the Mission Risk Manager (MRM) by assisting with the development of Flight, Technical, and Cyber risks as they relate to both internal MDA systems as well as external systems.

Job Description:
  • Ensure consistent, thorough, and integrated management, execution, and products of Flight, Technical, Programmatic and Cyber risks through the MDA Risk Working Group (MRWG).
  • Execute Technical Risk assessments to support MDA Operational Capacity List (OCL) Decisions.
  • Execute expert review of evidence related to technical, and Cyber risks presented in System and Element requirements and design reviews.
  • Aid elements in risk development.
  • Participate in Mission Execution and disposition of Execution Risks and Event Observations in Daily MRWGs.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in STEM and at least 7+ years of experience.
  • Must have Intermediate MS Office/TEAMS/PowerBI experience.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to communicate technical information to senior MDA leaders.
  • Must have experience with Risk development and assessment.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong task management skills, preferred.
  • Experience working with probability and statistics, preferred.
  • Technical understanding of one or more MDS system, preferred.
  • Understanding of MDS systems engineering including system assessment, preferred.
  • Ability to qualify for a TS/SCI clearance, preferred.

Security Requirements:
  • Must have an Active Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it.

Travel Requirements:
  • Minimal Travel; 10% or less
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
  • Communicating with others to exchange information
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
