Job description

What a typical day for the Maintenance Manager includes: prepare units for new residents and maintaining our preventative maintenance schedule.
Mercy Gardens, a 23-unit affordable community with on-site services for area individuals who have experienced homelessness in San Diego, CA.

Part Time position (32 hours per week) with FULL TIME health care benefits!
Pay: $28.00 - $29.56

Duties:
  • Work with Property Manager to ensure that budgets are followed
  • Meet unit turnover timelines
  • Collaborate with Property Manager to ensure that preventative maintenance and maintenance contracts meet the best possible quality and expense standards.

Minimum Qualifications of Position
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of experience in skilled maintenance work.
  • Technical expertise in one or more building trade.
  • Legally operate a motor vehicle (valid driver's license and insurance).

Knowledge and Skills
  • Legally operate a motor vehicle
  • Work in a collaborative manner and in a team environment. Define and solve problems.
  • Comprehend and communicate in the English language, both orally and in writing. Present information to groups of people.
  • Perform basic math and understand measurement systems used in the trade.
  • Read and interpret electrical, plumbing, and mechanical diagrams and blueprints. Draft make working sketches. Use maintenance, trade, and testing equipment and tools.
  • Effectively oversee work progress of vendors or outside contractors.
