Job description

Job Title: Medical Device Assembler

Location: Scarborough, ME 04074
Employment Type: W2 Contract – 3 Months with Possibility for Extensions
Pay Rate: $26.00–$28.06/hour – Determined based on experience (Paid Weekly)
Work Model: Fully Onsite
Shift: 2nd Shift – Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM (4x10-hour shifts)
Overtime: Hours worked over 40 are paid at time and a half


Note: This is a W2 only role — C2C and C2H will not be considered.


Role Overview


BEPC is actively seeking a Medical Device Assembler to support our client’s manufacturing operations in Scarborough, ME.


This position is responsible for the production and assembly of high-quality cardiovascular medical devices within a manufacturing cell. The role involves detailed assembly, equipment operation, inspection, testing, repair, and packaging activities according to established procedures and quality requirements.

Depending on the assigned work area, employees may work in a controlled cleanroom environment and use microscopes, hand tools, soldering equipment, adhesives, syringes, razor blades, and other production equipment.


The ideal candidate has 2+ years of relevant manufacturing or assembly experience, strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to follow documented procedures in a regulated production environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble cardiovascular medical devices and related components according to documented procedures.
  • Perform electronic assembly, mechanical assembly, casting/coating, and packaging activities as assigned.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment and machinery according to established procedures.
  • Use microscopes, hand tools, soldering equipment, adhesives, syringes, razor blades, and other production tools as required.
  • Perform visual inspections and precision measurements on components and finished assemblies.
  • Conduct product testing using computerized test equipment.
  • Repair or correct devices and components using microscopes and applicable tools.
  • Package completed medical devices while ensuring components and documentation are accurate.
  • Maintain accurate traveler documentation, shop floor paperwork, and quality records.
  • Ensure parts and materials remain traceable throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Clean tools and equipment according to documented procedures.
  • Properly dispose of hazardous waste in designated areas.
  • Follow all established safety requirements and use appropriate safety devices and PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary manufacturing environment.
  • Notify supervisors or leads when materials or supplies require replenishment.
  • Escalate production problems that cannot be readily corrected.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Support manufacturing cell performance, productivity, and quality goals.
  • Perform additional production-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of relevant manufacturing, production, or assembly experience.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures in English.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions in English.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong manual dexterity with the ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
  • Ability to perform detailed and repetitive assembly tasks.
  • Ability to use electronic data collection systems and computer software.
  • Ability to prioritize work based on production requirements and importance.
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to quality, accuracy, and documentation.
  • Ability to work the full Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM schedule.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous medical device manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Experience assembling small or precision components.
  • Experience using microscopes for assembly, inspection, or repair.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, adhesive bonding, or mechanical/electronic assembly.
  • Experience performing visual inspections and precision measurements.
  • Familiarity with computerized manufacturing test equipment.
  • Experience maintaining production and quality documentation in a regulated environment.
