Job description

Coordinate, manage, organize, and develop laboratory information management to aide in effective data-driven decisions to support laboratory services and meet the laboratory needs of patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides technical and analytical support for Laboratory Service.
  • Evaluates and modifies information management processes to meet operational and patient needs, improve efficiency, standardize, and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Create and modify hospital and department policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes laboratory hardware and software needs; Identify and resolve system issues.
  • Analyze, manipulate, and organize data to assess laboratory systems, services, and compliance. Generates and maintains data to produce laboratory reports.
  • Order set, protocol, and system maintenance to support dispensing, accurate billing and operational integrity.
  • Integrate laboratory systems andmeet department and organizational IT objectives.
  • Responsible for system configuration to standardize and optimize operational needs.
  • Identifies and implements changes to maintain medication security and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborates with department personnel to identify IT needs and develops or modifies existing programs to meet laboratory needs.
  • Develops, implements and documents training and competences for new and existing Laboratory systems. Prepares keeps updated instructional materials for training.
  • Identifies, communicates, and provides solutions for laboratory issues.
  • Coordinates hardware and software maintenance, new system installation, and system upgrades.
  • Initiates, collaborates, and participates in activities that will increase the quality of patient care through information systems management and automation.
  • Maintain and seek knowledge of current and new technology to increase operational efficiencies, enhance patient care, and maintain regulatory compliance
  • Identify, report, and help resolve system issues and/ or other items in need of repair such as submitting a ticket or calling a vendor.
  • Perform clinical laboratory, laboratory blood bank technician functions as needed.
  • Preforms other duties as assigned.
