Job description

Description

Voted one of Chicago's Best Places to Work by the Chicago Tribune for the ninth year in a row, Clarity Partners is hiring!

Clarity Partners is seeking Clinical Informatics Trainer local to Chicago, IL. In this role, you will prepare and deliver learning solutions that help clinical end users (nurses, providers, and ancillary staff) effectively utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) through classroom, unit-based, eLearning, web-based training, and 1:1 coaching. You will partner closely with clinical operations, clinical informatics, and information systems teams to assess learning needs, develop training materials, and support successful adoption of EMR workflows. This position will report in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess clinical learning needs and develop training solutions to improve EMR utilization and effectiveness.
  • Create and update training materials (course manuals, handouts, eLearning, webcasts, updates, and competency assessments).
  • Deliver training in classroom and clinical unit environments, virtually, and through 1:1 coaching.
  • Maintain and continuously improve training resources based on feedback, workflow changes, and system updates.
  • Support testing activities (unit/integrated testing), including maintaining and updating test scripts as needed.
  • Partner with IS to ensure the training environment/domain is functioning properly and that system build is incorporated into training environments.
  • Create and maintain EMR workflow/procedural guidelines that align with training content and real-world processes.
  • Independently manage training components for projects and contribute to workflow analysis/redesign with informatics and IS partners.
  • Handle confidential patient and fiscal information appropriately.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience as a nurse, including hospital-based clinical experience and exposure to clinical informatics/EMR workflows.
  • Experience delivering end-user training (classroom, at-the-elbow/unit-based, and/or virtual instruction) and adapting approach to audience and complexity.
  • Ability to develop training content such as job aids, participant guides, eLearning modules, and competency assessments.
  • Comfortable partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (clinical operations, informatics, and IS) and managing training workstreams independently.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Cerner EMR is required.
  • Coursework in Clinical Informatics is preferred.

Clarity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Clinical Informatics Trainer, the base salary range $100,000 - $115,000. The range represents a good faith estimate that Clarity reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of posting.
