Job description

Description Title: Graduate Research Assistant Position Number: 0000GA11 Vacancies: 2 Hiring Unit: College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources CTAHR), Academic and Student Affairs Office (ASAO) Location: University of Hawaii at Manoa; Honolulu, HI Date Posted: September 1, 2026 Closing Date: September 11, 2026, 11:59PM HST; first review date will be September 8, 2026. Salary: Step 17, $31,524 Schedule: Part-time, 19 hour/week Full-Time/Part-Time: Part-Time Month: 11-month Temporary/Permanent: Temporary Other Conditions: Applications welcome for a temporary, half-time, 11-month Graduate Assistant position is anticipated to begin 09/16/2026 for Fall 2026 to Spring 2027. Appointment ending May 31, 2027.

Incomplete applications will not be reviewed by the hiring committee. Please see application instructions. Duties and Responsibilities Supports undergraduate recruitment and retention initiatives, including creating and conducting targeted electronic and direct mail campaigns.

Assists in organizing enrichment activities and community-building events to support CTAHR undergraduate student engagement. Assists with event planning, logistics, communications, vendor and volunteer coordination, workshops, and execution for major CTAHR events, including but not limited to New Student Orientation, CTAHR Convocation, Accepted Student Events, and Discover Manoa. Assists with ASAO administrative and/or office tasks.

Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Enrolled as a classified, degree-seeking Master's or PhD student in good standing in any field at UH Manoa. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with faculty, staff, and students.

Proficiency with PC and Mac operating systems. Proficiency with Zoom, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace products. Available for mandatory in-person attendance at key CTAHR events, including New Student Orientation, Convocation, Discover Manoa, and prospective/accepted student events.

Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and grow both technical and professional soft skills. Desirable Qualifications Proficiency with web content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Evoq, Cascade). Familiarity with UH's learning management system(LMS), Lamaku (Brightspace)
