Job description

Logistics & Shipping Manager

Sandy, UT | $70,000–$90,000

Not every logistics role is the same. Some are spreadsheets and meetings. Others are all warehouse. This one is both.

I'm working with a growing manufacturing business that's looking for someone to take ownership of its entire shipping operation. You'll be responsible for ensuring hazardous materials are shipped safely, compliantly, and on time—whether that's across the state or across the globe.

This is a hands-on leadership role. If you're just as comfortable on a forklift or building a shipment as you are negotiating freight rates, completing export documentation, or solving logistics

challenges, you'll fit right in.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing domestic and international shipping operations
  • Coordinating freight with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and customers
  • Preparing export and customs documentation
  • Overseeing hazardous materials shipments across ground, air and ocean freight
  • Leading a small shipping team while remaining hands-on in daily operations
  • Building shipments, loading freight and ensuring everything leaves the facility safely and compliantly
  • Identifying opportunities to improve shipping efficiency and accuracy

What they're looking for:

This isn't a role for someone who's only managed logistics from behind a desk. They're looking for someone who leads from the front—someone who's happy to get out into the warehouse, support the team and make sure the operation runs smoothly every day.

To be considered, you'll need:

  • Current DOT 49 CFR, IATA Dangerous Goods, and IMDG certifications
  • Experience shipping hazardous materials within a manufacturing environment
  • International import/export and customs documentation experience
  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements for hazardous goods
  • Excellent Excel and shipping administration skills
  • Forklift experience and a hands-on approach

Experience within chemicals, paints, coatings, adhesives, resins, industrial manufacturing, or similar environments would be highly beneficial.

Why consider it?

This is an opportunity to own the logistics function for a growing manufacturing business where shipping, compliance, and operational excellence are critical to success. You'll have genuine ownership, the ability to improve processes, and the chance to make a visible impact from day one.

If you're looking for a role where you can combine technical logistics expertise with hands-on leadership, I'd love to have a confidential conversation.
