These roles often involve responsibilities like overseeing maintenance, handling tenant issues, and ensuring the property operates smoothly. In exchange for these management duties, employers provide the manager with a rent-free living arrangement, which can be a valuable benefit. Such jobs are common in apartment communities, student housing, and certain residential properties.

What are some common challenges faced by a manager live rent free and how can these be addressed?

A Manager Live Rent Free often faces the challenge of balancing property management duties with tenant relations, as they are typically responsible for overseeing maintenance, rent collection, and ensuring resident satisfaction. Living onsite can blur the lines between personal and professional time, so it's important to set clear boundaries and communicate availability to tenants. Additionally, responding quickly to maintenance issues and emergencies is crucial, requiring good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks. Building strong relationships with both tenants and property owners can help create a positive living environment and streamline daily operations.

To thrive as a Property Manager, you need expertise in property management, leasing, and knowledge of local housing laws, typically supported by relevant experience or certifications like a Real Estate License or Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation. Familiarity with property management software such as Yardi, AppFolio, or Buildium is often required. Job description

$65-70K Base + Monthly Commissions
Hassle Free Home is a home services membership. We provide our members handyman maintenance visits and an account manager for home projects outside the scope of our handyman. As an Account Manager, you'll be the coordinator of these projects. Keeping an organized project pipeline, informing clients with updates along the way, and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
If you're highly responsive, a clear communicator, and naturally organized, this is a role where you can stand out quickly.
What You'll Do
  • Coordinate home projects between clients and contractors
  • Communicate effectively through phone, text, and email
  • Follow up, schedule, and solve small issues before they become big ones
  • Review and polish estimates before sending to clients
  • Own the overall client experience from start to finish
What Matters Most
  • Clear, professional communication (written and verbal)
  • Fast responsiveness-you don't leave people waiting
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple clients/projects at once
  • Comfortable with technology (managing multiple systems, texting, email, and basic software tools)
In Summary
  • $65-70K base salary + monthly commissions
  • Local Territory - most on-site visits within 35 minutes of where you live
  • No door knocking, no high pressure sales - just taking care of clients and getting things done efficiently
  • Real career growth - multiple team members promoted within their first year
  • Benefits: PTO, health/dental/vision insurance
Who This Is Great For
  • Background in customer service, account management, or coordination
  • Someone who enjoys working with people and staying organized
  • Strong communicator who responds quickly and follows through
  • Looking for a stable role with growth-not a sales grind or technical construction job
  • Strong plus: experience in home services or similar industries

If you're organized, responsive, and great with people, this is a role where you can quickly become a key part of a growing team.
