Job description

We are seeking a reliable Live-In House Manager to provide on-site operational leadership for one of our recovery residences. The House Manager is the primary point of accountability for resident conduct, house standards, and day-to-day administration. This role lives on-site and plays a central part in maintaining a safe, structured, and recovery-focused home where residents can focus on growth and responsibility.

Compensation & Benefits

This is an intern leadership position. The internship position provides educational experience, which serves as compensation. Compensation includes:

Responsibilities:Guest Oversight & Recovery Support
  • Facilitate guest check-ins, meeting attendance, and overall program compliance, following up promptly on missed requirements.

  • Hold regular accountability conversations with guests regarding progress, recovery, and conduct.

  • Enforce house rules, curfew, chores, cleanliness standards, and overall guest expectations.

  • Monitor the culture and safety of the home, identifying and escalating concerns such as relapse indicators, conflict, behavioral issues, or safety risks.

  • Conduct or oversee drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with program policy and document results.

Administration & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate, confidential guest records, including rosters, onboarding documentation, incident reports, screening logs, dues tracking, and house meeting notes.

  • Complete all guest onboarding and required administrative documentation accurately and on time.

  • Order house supplies and submit maintenance requests as needed.

  • Maintain documentation required for NARR/CTARR certification, audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.

  • Document policy violations, warnings, and discharge recommendations according to program procedures while maintaining guest confidentiality.

Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Recognize signs of relapse and respond according to established protocols, escalating to leadership or emergency services when appropriate.

  • Ensure overdose response resources (including naloxone, where applicable) are accessible, and guests are familiar with response procedures.

  • Maintain a safe living environment, including required safety equipment, emergency procedures, and routine safety standards.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 9 months of continuous sobriety & membership in a 12-step program.

  • Lived or professional experience in recovery environments strongly preferred.

  • Reliability, sound judgment, and comfort holding accountability and conflict conversations.

  • Ability to set and maintain healthy boundaries while remaining supportive.

  • Basic comfort with mobile apps for resident tracking, ordering, and maintenance requests.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Valid driver’s license preferred.

  • Commitment to fostering a structured, recovery-focused culture.
