Overview
The Electrical Engineer will work as part of the engineering team. In this position, the Electrical Engineer will provide recommendations, and suggestions to support to business operations. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the utilization of software to design customer products. The Electrical Engineer will work across a variety of functional groups that are directly involved in engineering, product development, implementation, and international contract manufacturing partners. The ideal candidate is an inventive problem solver, capable of working through technical challenges and employing pragmatic solutions. This position requires computer knowledge and manual dexterity. This position requires the ability to read instructions represented in manuals and follow these instructions. This position exists in a temperature-controlled environment.
Responsibilities
  • Utilize Altium software to design BMS control circuits for commercial, military and industrial lithium Ion battery pack applications.
  • Perform system level testing and troubleshooting on Lithium Ion Battery Management Systems and Battery Packs.
  • Develop system level block diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams for Lithium Ion Battery Systems.
  • Perform or direct PCB layout.
  • Perform or direct circuit simulation utilizing Altium software.
  • Select proper rating for all components.
  • Develop Bill of Materials for each BMS control circuit design. Including finding sources for parts
  • Assist in the selection of wiring, fuses, shunts, terminal blocks, connectors and other electrical devices.
  • Perform BMS PCB Development Testing to ensure proper functionality.
  • Assist in EOL testing of battery packs to ensure proper performance before shipment to customers.
  • Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
  • Provides advisory support and assistance to the department manager as needed.
  • Responsible for meeting team targets and key performance indicators
  • Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner
  • Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Must be able to design electrical boards; Altium experience is preferred
  • Must be able to develop DVPR for electronics, develop test plans, design, and develop EE fixtures for electronics new and existing products
  • 1 - 5 years of work experience in embedded control circuit design
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • CANalyzer Experience
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in Altium Schematic Capture and layout software preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in the use of CANalyzer a plus
  • Experience in Lithium Ion battery testing a plus
