Network Security Engineer (FW and IPS/IDS)
As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our colleagues by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our IT Infrastructure business group. Work location will be at Lincolnshire, IL.
The ideal candidate will be part of a highly leveraged global Infrastructure Security team and must have a strong technical foundation that is current in network security technologies such as Palo Alto/Juniper & Cisco Firewalls and McAfee IPS/IDS. Alternative primary skills including F5 Load Balancers and BlueCoat Proxy technologies are also in scope. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with global partners. The ability to provide after hour support, in depth troubleshooting and network security project implementation is also required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
In depth knowledge of Cisco ASA/Juniper/Palo Alto firewalls
In depth knowledge of IPS/IDS, Anti-Virus technologies
Knowledge of Bluecoat Proxy technologies and F5 Load Balancing technologies
Strong understanding of IP Network and Routing, including BGP (Border Gateway Protocol)
Solid understanding IP network and routing along with packet analysis
Enterprise systems management experience
Linux or other UNIX like experience
Ability to work independently as well as with a team
Excellent analysis, problem solving, and trouble shooting skills
Risk vs. reward analysis
Knowledge of security best practices
Vulnerability management and remediation
Experience and other requirements:
o Minimum of 7 years technical experience working within a network / network security team
o Industry certification
o Bachelor degree advantageous
