  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field such as Occupational, Health, & Safety is preferred.
  • Prior EHS leadership experience in an industrial setting.
  • Experience working with illness and injuries both work and non-work related.
  • Excellent root cause failure analysis skills (formal training preferred).
  • Familiarity and experience with Workers Compensations processes and systems.
  • Experience and knowledge with computer and safety management tools.
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people.
  • Enjoy a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable corporate and regulatory environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Proposes general health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Develops and conducts employee training programs for compliance programs, accident prevention programs, fire prevention and incident investigation.
  • Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, and prepares appropriate reports including the site's safety scorecard. (e.g., Workers' Compensation, OSHA Log, Monthly KPIs, action plans, etc.).
  • Provides leadership for the site's Key Elements of Safety.
  • Acts as the site's resource for corporate initiatives and safety audits.
  • Provides assistance to supervisors during incident investigation.
  • Actively participate in the site's senior leadership team.
  • Regular interface with employees on the manufacturing floor.
  • Conduct inspections and verify safe work conditions including permitting.
  • Conduct and coordinate formal hazard assessments and site audits on a regular basis
  • Lead change and deliver results through others, while coaching all leadership levels on safety behaviors.
  • Conduct safety orientations with employees and sub-contractors as necessary.
  • Provide ongoing support to employees and front-line management in the effective execution of HSE programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with site/project management and ensure changes in operations, policies, and procedures are communicated, assessed, and controlled with management and employees.
  • Review site action plan and coordinate, assist and/or execute resolutions
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEP and other related federal and state regulations.
