Job description

The Employee shall serve as aย Clinical Technical Supervisor,ย ย responsible for:ย 
  • Overseeing daily laboratory operations and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements (CLIA, CAP, state regulations)
  • Managing laboratoryย staff, including hiring, training, scheduling and performance evaluations, under supervision and approval of Nicole Chorvat
  • Implementing and maintaining quality control and quality assurance programs
  • Managing laboratory budget, inventory, and vendor relationships
  • Collaborating with medical directors and other healthcare professionalsย 
  • Ensuring accurate and timely test results and excellent customer service
  • Processes incoming specimens to prepare for testing.
  • Performs and documents quality control and
instrument maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots quality control and instrument issues. Monitors
laboratory environmental parameters (temperature and humidity) and documents as required.
  • Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and all external customers.

Required Skills and Experience
โ€ข Bachelor of Science
โ€ข Basic knowledge of Windows Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
โ€ข Basicย knowledge of data/result entry
โ€ข Ability toย approach problems/decisions analytically
โ€ข Ability to perform and document quality control and instrument maintenance
โ€ข Experience with, or ability to learn, operations for instrumentation utilized and other functions related
to the production of diagnostic patient results after training
โ€ข Excellent communicationย and verbal skills
โ€ข Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and interact effectively with all levels of staff, management,
and healthcare providers (physicians, advanced practitioners, and nurses)
โ€ข Ability to work with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills and Experiences
โ€ข A.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science acceptable
โ€ข B.S. in Laboratory Science preferred
โ€ข Ability to construct reports or summaries of laboratory data as needed
โ€ข 2+ years clinical laboratory experience
Technical Essential Job Responsibilities
โ€ข Prepare specimens for molecular testing
โ€ข Perform PCR testing and report results
โ€ข Perform QC and evaluate acceptability before testing/reporting patient results
โ€ข Perform manual and computerized data entry to accession specimens and maintain logs and recording
โ€ข Prepare and maintain all necessary reagents
โ€ข Maintain laboratory instrumentation/equipment
โ€ข Document QC, instrument/equipment maintenance, and other laboratory records
โ€ข Assist with answering phones, responding to emails, and other administrative duties
โ€ข Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Laboratory Manager
Knowledge
โ€ข Principles and techniques of clinical laboratory testing
โ€ข Laboratory regulations, including quality control, lab safety, lab documentation requirements, and lab
instrumentation in general
Skills
โ€ข Use of computers for database management, testing, record keeping, etc.
โ€ข Time management
โ€ข Prioritization of testing and other assigned tasks
โ€ข Multi-task and workย with minimal supervision
โ€ข Interpersonal and communication skills
