Position: Laboratory Technician Specialist
Department: Pharmaceutical and Graduate Life Sciences

As a Laboratory Technician Specialist, you’ll play a vital role supporting both teaching and research laboratories—helping faculty and students bring scientific concepts to life while ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-equipped lab environment. This role blends hands-on lab work, safety leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to advance impactful research and learning


What You'll Do:

  • Prepare and support teaching laboratories, providing guidance during student lab sessions
  • Maintain cell lines, lab stocks, and equipment for instructional and research use
  • Order supplies, manage inventory, and ensure labs remain fully operational
  • Provide technical support to multiple research initiatives and faculty scientists
  • Lead and maintain laboratory safety and compliance programs, including hazardous waste management
  • Conduct lab inspections and audits to ensure OSHA/EPA and institutional compliance
  • Partner with faculty and leadership to improve lab processes, safety standards, and quality outcomes
  • Coordinate hazardous material handling and documentation with outside vendors/agencies
