Confluent Health System Solutions is in search of a Physical Therapist PhD / Director of SPARC at Emory Physical Therapy, Johns Creek. The SPARC Program is the nation's largest sports performance and research center located at the Falcons Flowery Branch Headquarters. We are looking for an experienced clinician who has strong language, math, and reasoning skills to direct and guide research lab operations at this location.

Responsibilities

1. The Director of SPARC at Emory Physical Therapy, Johns Creek will be responsible for the supervision of research lab operations at this location. 2. This role helps to direct and guide participation in research activities for Emory Physical Therapy clinical staff as appropriate. 3. The Director is also responsible for materially participating in research grant proposal submissions. 4. Research grant funding activity in Biomedical and Rehabilitation Engineering, and Motion Analysis shall be technically supervised by the Director. 5. Publications and related activities as appropriate shall be supervised by the Director. 6. The Director will also provide patient care for physical therapy patients at Emory Physical Therapy, Johns Creek. Patient care services to patients of all ages from neonate to geriatric including:

  • Provides assessment/evaluations and other physical therapy services to patients/clients for the purpose of treatment, injury prevention as well as health promotion according to the scope of practice limitations per State statute.
  • Establishes plan of care with associated goals including quantifiable physical and functional targets.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment to achieve goals.
  • Delegates appropriate therapy activities to ancillary staff members and provides supervision of staff members in a safe and effective manner and consistent with state laws.
  • Provides care in accordance with the referral (if the referral is required by law) and collaborates with that referrer to establish an optimal plan of care. Assesses educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver or significant other and provides education to meet those needs.
  • Plans and manages timely and appropriate patient discharge and outcome follow up.
  • Communicates with patient, family, caregivers, significant other and members of the healthcare team to promote maximum benefit and coordination of care.
  • Completes orientation to facility/service policies, procedures, Code of Conduct and all other compliance or educational requisites.
  • The Physical Therapist participates in activities and training to comply with all local, state and federal regulations, the APTA's Standards of Practice, Codes of Ethics as well as any other standards, policies and procedures that govern the practice of physical therapy.

Reporting Relationships:

The Physical Therapist reports directly to the Director of Rehabilitation for all employment matters and activities in addition to Greg Myer regarding clinical services provided by the Motion Analysis Lab.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Physical Therapy PhD
  • Current physical therapist license in Georgia
  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR Card

 Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of clinical exposure.
  • Extensive research experience.
