Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO)
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm
Essential Functions:
Oversee technical lab operations for the Reference Laboratory of the JV Business Model to include quality assurance, specimen management, cytology, referrals, clinical operations and microbiology. Responsible through lab managers for quality and timeliness of technical procedures, compliance, financial stewardship of the laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Directs and coordinates laboratory activities to ensure that services are provided on schedule with quality and cost objectives.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining an inclusive and positive workplace within the reference laboratory departments, for customer satisfaction, effective business unit support, expense controls and efficient capital resource allocation.
  • Manage and develop process improvements, identifying and executing efficiency opportunities.
  • Develops and trains lab leadership personnel within the laboratory and reviews and appraises their performance.
  • Establishes laboratory operations plan and delegates responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities to appropriate subordinates.
  • Creates and evaluates new procedures and equipment for potential use on the laboratory and recommends new procedures and equipment where necessary.
  • Directs, coordinates and oversees major projects to the best economic advantage of the Joint Venture.
  • Lead, support, and coordinate efforts to ensure quality and ensure that all pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical processes are consistent with Oklahoma State regulations and all CAP, CLIA, and JAHCO Hospital laboratory requirements and with Quest Diagnostics NQA SOPs, values and mission.
  • Serves on Senior Leadership Team for JV and assists in the development of business strategy for the organization. Continually discuss current and future business strategies with business unit, regional and corporate experts.
  • Facilitates interactions with all departments to assist in facilitating successful resolution to issues and concerns that are of benefit to sales as well as operation.
  • Collaborates with Director of Hospital Laboratory Operations to facilitate overall strategy for the business unit to support the technical functions.
  • Provide Business Unit feedback, functional knowledge, and requirements to Regional and Corporate representatives.
  • Serve on multi-functional groups to provide local BU experience.

Qualifications
Required Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of: business strategies, employee relations, customer relations, vendor relations
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Excellent written and oral communication, and presentation skills

Required Work Experience:
  • 8+ years lab experience including at least 3 years in a managerial role

Special Requirements:
  • BSMT (MS/Ph D desirable) ASCP Certification preferred
  • MLS Certifications

Other:
  • Knowledge of: business strategies, employee relations, customer relations, vendor relations
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Excellent written and oral communication, and presentation skills
