Description/Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Inspection of machined product to specifications on drawings.

Creation and documentation of product inspection forms

First Article Inspections and documentation

Lead capability studies and Gage R & R’s

Calibration of all equipment used to measure critical dimensions

Additional tasks and duties as assigned

Strategy and Development

Develop and maintain relationships with vendors

Chart and Graph Quality department Key Performance Indicators

Assist in Audits of Quality Management Processes

Assist in 5S and Lean Management initiatives in Quality Department.

Involved in Cross-training and employee development programs

Task Management

Keep calibrations and their documentation current

Update Key Process Indicators

Document incoming inspections

Creation and review of PSIR’s and QIP’s

First Piece workflow creation of inspection documentation for new product

Change Process workflow – FIFO product and update documentation as per indicated changes

Adhere to ISO guidelines and the guidelines set forth by MUM industries, Quality Management Processes

Follow processes for Deviations and Corrective Actions

People Management

Foster relationships with purchasing, vendors and other quality personnel

Communicate problems promptly to customer service and vendors

Follow up on issues or concerns that have not clearly been resolved

Represent Quality Department at required meetings

Work with Engineering on development of new product measurement critical dimensions

Relationship Management

Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance

Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the customers needs and requirements, within boundaries of the company’s abilities.

Works independently & reports to Engineering Manager and Director of Operations

Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally to the company, in relation to quality concerns

Qualifications:

Must have 3 years of previous experience in manufacturing in a quality lead or quality technician role. 

Must have previous experience with weldment inspections.

Must be proficient in Excel for use in charting.

Experience and understanding of calibration techniques preferred.

ISO and MRP/ERP experience preferred.

Able to complete root cause analysis.

Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Able to work in a team setting.

Able to manage time as a self-starter.

Experience maintaining tools.

Experienced in blueprint/CAD Drawing reading.

Must be able to use the following equipment:

Micrometers, Calipers (digital and analog), Height Gauges, Profilometers, 2Gauge and Pin Blocks, Go/No-Go Gauges, Radius Gauges, Telescopic Gauges, Taper Gauges.
