Job description

Position: Kafka Administrator
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Day 1 onsite position
JD:
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Kafka Administrator or in a similar role managing Kafka clusters in production.
  • Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka architecture and its components like brokers, topics, partitions, and consumers.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka tools such as Kafka Manager, Kafka Connect, and Kafka Streams.
  • Experience in managing, tuning, and scaling large Kafka clusters in production environments.
  • Expertise in monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
  • Experience with distributed systems and networking.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with other messaging systems like Apache Pulsar or RabbitMQ.
  • Certification or training in Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with data streaming, event-driven architecture, or microservices.
  • Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards related to Kafka.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
