Job Summary:
As a tutor, you will support your peers in achieving their learning goals while learning and growing as a professional.
As a tutor you will:
  • Enhance your communication skills
  • Increase your understanding of and gain new perspectives on the subject you tutor
  • Better understand the learning process through tutor training and your work with peers with other learning styles and educational experiences
  • Gain mentorship skills
  • Enjoy flexible hours (4-12 per week) in a convenient on-campus work location
  • Earn a starting wage of $12.00 per hour

Qualifications:
  • Completed at least one semester at UWSP with at least two semesters remaining
  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of course material as evidenced by a 3.0 GPA or above and/or a faculty recommendation letter.
  • Available to tutor for at least two semesters
  • Willing to work with peers in a collaborative, inclusive learning environment
  • Enjoy helping others learn

Duties and Expectations:
  • Provide tutoring and support in one of our service areas
  • Assist learners in the development of effective study skills and test-taking strategies
  • Learn and continually apply TLC and tutoring program procedures
  • Regularly check staff email and communicate with other staff members
  • Attend required orientations, meetings, and training sessions
