Job description

Position Summary
The Manufacturing IT Administrator provides critical, front-line technical support for corporate and production environment systems. This role ensures high operational uptime by maintaining hardware, troubleshooting software, and supporting specialized manufacturing execution systems (MES) and ERP platforms. A key objective of this position is managing daily IT operations to allow senior IT leadership to focus on strategic initiatives and compliance frameworks (DoD, ITAR, CMMC).
Key Responsibilities
Production & Manufacturing Applications Support
  • ERP Assistance: Provide primary end-user troubleshooting and support for the QAD ERP system.
  • Ignition Support: Act as the first-line support for Ignition systems. Perform basic functionality and server health checks, escalating to contracted support vendors when necessary.
  • Roadrunner Support: Serve as a core technical resource for the Roadrunner manufacturing application, ensuring smooth integration, data flow, and user troubleshooting.
  • Industrial Hardware: Maintain, evaluate, and fix specialized manufacturing hardware, including barcode scanners, digital scales, and time clocks.

Endpoint & Software Management
  • PC Lifecycle: Manage hardware imaging, configuration, deployment, and physical troubleshooting for workstations.
  • Software Support: Deliver comprehensive PC software troubleshooting and user assistance.
  • Daily Operations: Standardize desktop environments to free up senior IT resources for cybersecurity compliance readiness.

Printer & Peripheral Infrastructure
  • Office Printers: Troubleshoot laser printers and copiers. Perform immediate fixes or coordinate repairs with contracted vendors.
  • Barcode Printers: Diagnose industrial barcode printer issues. Repair internally or research and recommend replacement options.
  • Auxiliary Devices: Maintain peripheral equipment, including postal machines, document scanners, and security cameras.

On-Call & Operations Support
  • After-Hours Support: Participate in an off-hours and weekend on-call rotation.
  • Remote Triage: Resolve remote helpdesk tickets, including Active Directory/QAD account lockouts and email issues.
  • Operations Knowledge: Leverage knowledge of local facility operations to resolve localized hardware, camera, Roadrunner, and Ignition system issues.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of IT support experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows OS, Active Directory, PC imaging tools, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Manufacturing Applications: Hands-on exposure to ERP software (QAD preferred) and manufacturing systems like Ignition or Roadrunner is highly advantageous.
  • Problem Solving: Strong hardware diagnostic skills spanning PCs, industrial printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Availability: Must be willing to participate in a weekly on-call rotation and travel on-site during off-hours for critical infrastructure failures.
