Who We Are:

Metrolinx's GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network.

What You'll Do:

  • Have primary responsibility for the overall planning, coordination, and consolidation of material requisitions for a wide range of railway construction materials, equipment, and services across the project.
  • Lead materials demand planning and forecast reviews, ensuring material quantities, lead times, and delivery timelines align with construction sequencing, lookahead schedules, and project controls forecasts.
  • Oversee and manage subcontracts for inventory and materialsrelated services, including warehousing, yard operations, materials handling, transportation, and thirdparty logistics providers.
  • Ensure drawings, technical specifications, standards, and client requirements are properly identified, reviewed, and included with ERP (e.g., SAP) requisitions and purchase order documentation.
  • Act as the primary projectlevel liaison between Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Logistics, Quality, Commercial, and Client representatives to ensure materials are
  • purchased and delivered in accordance with contractual, technical, safety, and schedule requirements.
  • Lead and manage supplier and logistics provider relationships, including ongoing coordination with key suppliers and freight providers, and monitor supplier performance against delivery, quality, cost, and contractual commitments.
  • Support Procurement and Contracts teams with supplier evaluations, corrective actions, and recommendations.
  • Monitor material deliveries and lead expediting efforts, identifying critical or highrisk items and implementing mitigation strategies to protect construction schedules.
  • Support Operations and Construction leadership with materials, tooling, and equipment logistics strategies for contractor or clientsupplied items.
  • Lead and oversee receiving, inspection, and inventory management activities across all sites, including oversight of goods receipt processes, inspection coordination, resolution of nonconformances, and inventory accuracy and reporting in SAP or equivalent systems.
  • Manage inventory control and stock levels across all sites and offsite locations, including inventory tracking, cycle counts, and audits; monitor material usage trends; and define disposition strategies for excess, obsolete, or surplus materials.
  • Ensure quality compliance and documentation control in accordance with project QA/QC requirements.
  • Ensure all materials activities comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements, including safe handling, storage, transportation, loading, and unloading.
  • Lead the Materials Management team, providing direction, prioritization, and regular material status reporting to the Project team.
  • Develop and oversee materials reporting, including material status and delivery reports, forecast accuracy and demandversussupply analysis, supplier performance metrics, and freight, logistics, and expediting cost reports.
  • Support materials budget control by tracking material and logistics costs, identifying variances and risks, and defining mitigation actions.
  • Define, monitor, and report on Materials KPIs, including ontime delivery performance, inventory accuracy, supplier responsiveness, and materials availability versus construction demand.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to materials planning, procurement coordination, logistics, inventory management, and reporting.

What You Bring:

  • 5-10 years of experience in materials management, procurement, logistics, or project coordination roles within railway, transit, civil, or large infrastructure construction projects.
  • Proven experience leading materials planning, supplier coordination, logistics, and Inventory management in complex, schedule-driven project environments.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Construction Management, or Materials & Operations Management (college or university level); considered an asset.
  • Enrollment in or completion of SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) or similar professional accreditation is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Visio an asset).
  • Solid working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred), including requisitions, POs, goods receipt, inventory, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of freight operations and logistics, including domestic and cross-border shipments, customs documentation, Incoterms, and coordination with freight forwarders and carriers.
  • Familiarity with Canadian rail or transit authority requirements (e.g., Metrolinx, TTC, CN, CP, VIA Rail) is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian construction and rail-related codes and standards, including applicable CSA, ASTM, and project-specific specifications.
  • Strong planning, decision-making, negotiation, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, safety-critical construction environment.

Expected compensation for this role is between $95,000.00-115,000.00 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration. In addition to base salary ONxpress also offers a comprehensive medical and dental program, RRSP with company matching and the potential to participate in our discretionary, performance based bonus program.
