Varstaff is looking for a Material Handler I - B.

About the Job: In this role, you will play a crucial part in fulfillment center operations. You will handle incoming shipments, manage inventory, operate heavy material-handling equipment, and maintain accurate records within our inventory management system. As a key member of the team, you will drive continuous improvement by identifying operational roadblocks, supporting root-cause analysis, and ensuring top-tier quality control and safety standards across all workflow stages.

Shift Details & Schedule

  • Shift: B Shift | Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 12:30 AM PST

  • Hours: Standard 45 hours/week schedule (Opportunity to work up to 55 hours/week)

What We’re Looking For Education & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in Fulfillment Center Operations, specifically within receiving and inventory functions.

  • Experience in inventory counting, receiving, packing, put-away, picking/kitting, or shipping.

  • Prior certified forklift experience operating heavy equipment (PIT) in a material handling environment.

  • Strong communication, mathematical, and analytical skills to define problems, collect data, and draw logical conclusions.

  • Dedicated mindset with a focus on world-class quality, attention to detail, and team collaboration.

Must-Have Skills

  • Equipment Operation: Hands-on experience and proficiency in operating heavy machinery/PIT equipment, including forklifts, electronic pallet jacks (EPJs), reach-trucks, and turret-trucks.

  • Receiving & Quality Control: Ability to unload shipments, visually inspect incoming packages against standard operating procedures (SOPs), and perform required quality control checks.

  • Inventory Management & Data Entry: Ability to systematically document receipts, navigate inventory management software, input data accurately, conduct storage auditing, and derive inventory requirements from Bills of Materials (BOM).

  • Packaging & Staging: Skills in selecting proper packaging materials, wrapping/storing parts, labeling, and staging materials to prevent loss or damage.

  • Physical & Safety Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and a strict commitment to workplace safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.

Nice-to-Have Skills (Preferred)

  • Warehouse, receiving, or inventory experience within the aerospace or automotive industries.
