Vendor Management Inventory Driver

Your role

As a Vendor Management Inventory Driver, you will partner with your internal team and sales to ensure customers' expectations are exceeded through exceptional service, quality products, and reliable delivery. You will monitor and manage inventory at customer sites, maintaining accurate stock records in their systems and generating timely replenishment orders based on your data analysis. Your mornings may begin with reviewing inventory levels and planning your route, followed by driving to customer locations to deliver products, restock inventory, and check in with key contacts. You will strengthen customer relationships by providing on-site support, reviewing VMI reports, and maintaining organized records. Throughout the day, you will address supply chain challenges, coordinate with your branch manager regarding changes in stock levels, and support warehouse operations as needed. You will actively participate in required training and cross-train in other areas, always upholding Value Added Distributors' vision, mission, and values in everything you do.

Vendor management inventory driver schedule

You will work Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with overtime as needed. The role involves daily travel-sometimes up to two hours one way-to customer locations.

Vendor management inventory driver requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 21 years old
  • 2+ years of driving experience in all weather conditions
  • Valid Class C driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain a DOT medical card (company reimburses)
  • Ability to type 25+ words per minute
  • Familiarity with supply chain or logistics is ideal
  • Solid judgment and decision-making ability, staying objective and calm under pressure
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and maintain urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong data analysis and inventory forecasting skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and a respectful, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to safely lift up to 65 pounds using proper techniques
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with ERP systems like Epicor (a plus)
  • Knowledge of hydraulic components (a plus)
