OPENLANE, a leader in automotive remarketing, is looking for a Yard Inventory Coordinator with experience in outdoor work, vehicle inventory control, and basic vehicle maintenance.

You will be involved in preparing vehicles for auction, managing vehicle inventory movement, and providing excellent customer service. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your experience in all-weather outdoor work, basic computer/mobile operations, and vehicle operation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in customer service and outdoor operations. We strongly desire candidates who are comfortable and experienced in working outdoors in all weather environments.

You Are:

  • Detail-Oriented. You accurately record all services provided (fuel, tow, etc.) to ensure correct customer billing. You also manually enter vehicle information and assign stock numbers into inventory management systems with precision.

  • Reliable. You are comfortable and experienced operating vehicles and performing yard duties in various outdoor conditions, including being prepared for tasks like clearing vehicles of snow or light shoveling when necessary.

  • Customer-Focused. You provide excellent customer service by efficiently assisting dealers, customers, and other internal departments with vehicle retrieval and various administrative requests.

You Will:

  • Ensure vehicles are ready for auction and in working order (i.e., boosting, adding gas, attending to lockouts, preparing for towing, and filling tires).

  • Accurately record any services provided (fuel, tow, etc.) to ensure accurate billing.

  • Prepare vehicles to move through our remarketing system, including staging vehicles for reconditioning shops or transportation as well as moving, marking, flagging, and/or staging vehicles as instructed.

  • Photograph vehicles post-reconditioning services.

  • Provide customer service by assisting customers or other internal departments in retrieving their vehicles.

  • Manually enter vehicle information into our inventory management systems, using a computer and a mobile device.

  • Assign inventory stock number, open repair orders, and register vehicles to OPENLANE's platforms.

  • May assist with other administrative tasks, or tasks related to inventory control including removing license plates, printing window stickers, and responding to inquiries from administrative departments.

  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting dealers with various procedures and requests in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Operate vehicles under various weather conditions and may be required to manually remove snow through various means (clearing vehicles of snow, light shoveling in the yard, operating plow truck, bobcat, loader, etc.).

You Have:

  • Experience working outdoors in an industrial or related environment is strongly preferred.

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Valid Drivers' license is required.

  • Basic computer & smartphone skills required.

  • Experience working outside in all weather conditions.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Nice to Have's:

  • Experience operating heavy equipment (plow truck, bobcat, loader)

  • Basic automotive mechanical knowledge

  • Familiarity with inventory management systems
