ON Services is a national, full-service event production company specializing in AV design, lighting, scenic design, and creative solutions for corporate events, trade shows, concerts, and large-scale productions. Our company is comprised of three specialized teams - ON Site, ON Events, and ON Tour - working together to deliver seamless execution across venues, events, and tours.


About the Role


The Director of Audio Visual is responsible for the overall management of audio visual services within a hospitality venue environment. This role oversees day-to-day AV operations, client service, property relations, sales support, equipment and labor coordination, and team leadership to ensure successful event execution and strong business performance.


This position works closely with venue partners, clients, internal leadership, and on-site team members to deliver high-quality audio visual services while upholding ON Services standards for professionalism, service, safety, and operational excellence. The Director of Audio Visual plays a key role in supporting client satisfaction, employee development, financial performance, and the overall success of the venue partnership.

Requirements

Responsibilities


  • Oversee the overall management of audio visual services within a hospitality venue environment.
  • Lead daily venue AV operations to ensure events are executed successfully and in alignment with ON Services standards.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with venue partners, property leadership, clients, and internal teams.
  • Support sales efforts, account management, property relations, and client service initiatives.
  • Coordinate equipment and labor scheduling to meet event and operational needs.
  • Train, mentor, coach, and support direct reports and on-site team members.
  • Manage equipment inventory, quality control, and proper care of audio visual assets.
  • Ensure billing, accounting, and operational documentation are accurate and completed in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Review and understand financial reports to support process improvement, cost control, and profitability.
  • Apply knowledge of business operations, including profit and loss, inventory control, and logistics, to support venue performance.
  • Promote exemplary customer service to venue partners, clients, guests, and internal teams.
  • Maintain a professional image and represent ON Services positively at all times.
  • Support and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work environment.
  • Complete required daily paperwork, reporting, and ON Site training.
  • Assist with additional operational, leadership, and venue support duties as needed.


Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of six years of experience in in-house audio visual services, venue services, event production, or a related field.
  • Prior leadership experience within a hospitality, venue, audio visual, or event production environment.
  • Strong understanding of audio visual operations, event execution, equipment coordination, and client service.
  • Knowledge of business operation fundamentals, including profit and loss, inventory control, and logistics.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and use financial and operational reports to support business decisions.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate office and audio visual equipment as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on event and business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Background in music, recording, audio visual technology, computers, hospitality, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Experience managing hospitality venue AV services preferred.
  • Experience with employee coaching, training, performance management, and team development preferred.
  • Fluency in a second language is helpful.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment


  • This role requires physical mobility, including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, climbing, crawling, grasping, writing, repetitive motions, bending, listening, and the ability to use applicable hearing and vision functions.
  • Must have finger dexterity to operate office equipment, computers, and audio visual equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Work may be performed indoors and outdoors depending on venue and event needs.
  • Must be able to work well under deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and perform effectively in high-pressure event environments.
