UnityPoint Health - Sioux City provides coordinated clinic, hospital and home-based care for patients in Sioux City and the surrounding Siouxland area. St. Luke's offers a full range of services and programs that includes a state-of-the-art surgical center, Siouxland's premier birth center, 24/7 cardiovascular care, and Level III emergency department. In addition, UnityPoint Health - Sioux City is also home to St. Luke's College which provides high-quality, health system-based education to individuals looking for careers in health care.

  • 24/7 hospitalist program responsible for adult and pediatric inpatients
  • Schedule managed locally - flexible scheduling - team trades amongst themselves
  • Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination
  • St. Luke's Regional Medical Center serves 175,00 people in a three-state region of Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota
Responsibilities
  • Annual visit volume = 41,000
  • Average patients per day = 111
  • Average 1.5-1.9 patients per hour
  • 40 hours of physician coverage & 27 hours of APP coverage per day
  • Work schedule = 12-15 ten hour shifts per month
  • Level 3 Trauma Center
  • 30 bed ED + 4 trauma bays
  • No call, good work/life balance
  • Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
  • Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
  • Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • BE/BC in Emergency Medicine
  • Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
  • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician's field of practice
  • Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
