Job description

Responsibilities

  • Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash flow projections that help clients make informed business decisions.
  • Analyze financial trends, identify opportunities, and provide proactive recommendations to improve profitability and long-term financial performance.
  • Prepare, review, and present monthly Advisory Reports, translating financial data into meaningful business insights for clients.
  • Lead monthly Zoom advisory meetings, helping business owners understand their financial performance, compare results to budget, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with the Tax Team to identify tax planning opportunities and incorporate tax strategies into financial forecasts.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), profitability, collections, overhead, and cash flow while identifying emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Review Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, and trailing financial reports to identify trends, anomalies, and areas requiring attention.
  • Categorize and reconcile transactions, bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and payroll activity.
  • Download and reconcile payroll reports and prepare payroll allocations.
  • Maintain consistent client communication through email, follow-up, and ongoing financial guidance.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional accounting, advisory, or financial management experience (CPA preferred but not required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong experience developing budgets, financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial models.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements and translate financial information into actionable business recommendations.
  • Comfortable serving as a trusted advisor to business owners and confidently presenting financial information in client meetings.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel with strong analytical and modeling skills.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and payroll platforms such as ADP or Gusto.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a polished, professional business writing style.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client relationships while maintaining exceptional accuracy and meeting deadlines.
