Job description

Position Summary: This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the branch retail department to ensure quality customer service is provided in a professional and courteous manner and in accordance with bank and regulatory policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for promoting the branch facility in the community with emphasis on building the deposit base and cross selling other bank products and services to expand customer relationships. Essential Functions: Assists Regional Branch manager in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the bank’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Assists the Regional Branch manager in ensuring that all three Branches are compliant with FSWB Security Program and have the availability to respond to after hour calls which may include but is not limited to ATM Maintenance, Security System Alarms, or any other emergency situation, etc. Assists the Regional Branch Manager in overseeing daily branch sales and service efforts and ensuring achievement of branch sales and service goals for all three locations for all three locations Assists the Regional branch manager in providing administrative support to other retail and lending staff to meet the needs of the customer and assist in the sales efforts of the facility for all three locations. Responds to customer demands, handles customer complaints and ensures customers satisfaction to maintain a positive public image. Makes sales calls to existing and prospective customers to increase business and ensure customer retention. Solicits and originates Consumer Loans including Residential Real Estate Loans according to safe and sound lending principles while meeting the needs of the consumer. Ensures a profitable portfolio and mitigates risk. Ongoing management of portfolio to include minimizing and clearing of exception items. Works with Special Assets Officer to ensure timely collection of past due loans and resolution for problem loans. Solicit and open new deposit accounts for branch/market area, which includes the preparation of deposit account documents, the uploading of the account into the banks customer information software/programs and obtaining all necessary legal documentation for the opening of accounts. Conducts comprehensive interviews with loan applicants to establish needs and identifies appropriate loan products. Analyzes financial and related data in order to determine the general creditworthiness of the applicant. Determines the merits of the specific loan request through First Southwest Bank underwriting policies. Competently explains loan features, interest rates, APR, fees, loan terms and payment requirements with the applicant. Prepares loans for underwriting and closing by entering the loan application in bank software, obtains income and asset verification, collateral value, and schedules closing. Closes loans by reviewing documents for accuracy, competently explains documents to customer and obtains required signatures. Scans all documents into Synergy and submits booking request and prepares entries for disbursements. Follows standard procedures for file maintenance and document retention. Ensures compliance with all state and federal bank regulations by following established bank policies and completing assigned compliance training. Service assigned loan portfolio, including any new loans originated in cooperation with loan operations department. SECONDARY DUTIES:
Maintains daily logs for vault, mail, night deposit, open/close branch, etc.
Enforces and adheres to compliance, security, and bank regulations. Complies with and supports bank policies, procedures and goals.
Assisting in and approving customer service and teller transactions as needed.
Performs ongoing training, including compliance and banking regulations, as well as keeping informed of any changes to the regulations.
Participates in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank within their market place.Actively makes referrals to other departments.Executes all teller functions as needed.
Opens and closes the Branch when required.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - •Minimum 3 years of directly related banking (Teller, Personal Banker, etc.), including supervisory experience.• Or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field and three years directly related banking, including supervisory experience.
• Computer skills required.
• Pleasant disposition which gives a positive image of the bank to customers and prospects.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Depending on location and time of year, extreme high and low temperatures within the building will be experienced.

It is the responsibility of all employees to make all reasonable efforts to identify suspicious cash activity which may be associated with customer attempts to avoid the reporting requirements of the BSA or government or federal tax reporting, as well as potential money laundering resulting from criminal / illegal activities. All suspicious activity, regardless of the amount involved in the transaction, must be reported to a supervisor or Branch Manager for further investigation and possible reporting by the Bank Secrecy Officer to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
No director, officer, employee, or agent who reports a suspicious transaction under the requirements of the BSA may notify any person involved in the transaction that the transaction has been reported.
Each employee of the bank shall be required to complete Bank Secrecy Act / Suspicious Activity training periodically which is commensurate with the duties of their position.
