As part of the Snow & Ice Division, the Field Operations Manager (Winter Season Only) plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless snow and ice management across a designated territory. This seasonal, full-time position (July – April) is based in Fort Washington, PA, and is ideal for organized, hands-on leaders who thrive in dynamic environments. The role bridges field execution and senior management, overseeing pre-season planning, in-season operations, and end-of-season wrap-up to deliver high-quality service to commercial clients. Responsibilities
  • Lead pre-season planning for assigned territory, including equipment allocation, manpower coordination, and risk assessment for all sites.
  • Develop and maintain snow and ice management maps and train crew leads on site-specific scopes of work.
  • Recruit, onboard, and schedule team members to ensure all labor needs are met before and during the season.
  • Coordinate CPR training for team members at designated times and locations.
  • Conduct pre-event and post-event meetings with the Director of Operations to review plans and outcomes.
  • Patrol sites during and after weather events to verify work quality and adherence to standards.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of consumable materials (salt, fuel) and equipment at each site.
  • Oversee weekly equipment checks, sea container inventories, and crew hour verification across all sites.
  • Maintain regular communication with customer facility and site managers, documenting feedback and addressing concerns.
  • Complete incident investigations, document equipment damage, and ensure proper maintenance and return of rental equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to develop and improve standard operating procedures and performance reviews.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial snow and ice management, landscape operations, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple sites and crews within a defined territory.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation and winter weather event management.
  • Familiarity with snow and ice management scopes of work and client service expectations.
  • Highly organized, process-oriented, and skilled in building and documenting operational systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field applications for operational planning and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills with both team members and clients.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable commute to Fort Washington, PA.
Compensation

$35 – $45 per hour, depending on experience. This is a seasonal, full-time position running from July through April.
