Job description

Description

Title: Quality Technician

Reports to: Quality Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with relieving operators for breaks and lunches as needed
  • Training new operators to the OPC and C&S procedures as required including new hire orientation
  • Work in accordance with the quality policy and quality objectives
  • Inspect per standards at all stages of manufacturing and document as required
  • Identify and document any product not conforming with the use of a NCR
  • Active team member in problem solving and continuous improvement activities
  • Use of inspection equipment as required
  • Assist with internal auditing and maintaining the Quality Management System as needed
  • Assist with monitoring calibration status of quality tools and / or equipment
  • Print production, WIP, and misc labels as needed on the floor
  • Communicate quality issues via shift meetings, NCR, RMAs, etc.
  • Input of production reports as required
  • Conduct sorts at the customer as required
  • Provide a positive attitude and atmosphere within the company and while representing C&S at the customer
  • Assist in monitoring scrap levels in your designated area and communicate as required
  • Maintain housekeeping throughout the area of responsibility in the plant
  • Understand the quality system as it relates to your function in ISO/IATF 16949
  • Must work to all safety policies and goals of the company
  • Maintain and wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required
  • Assist with inventory when applicable

Miscellaneous:

  • Perform all other duties as the company may require

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. (ability to read and minimal mathematics)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to communicate and work well with others and maintain a positive attitude
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must have your own mode of transportation
  • Must be willing to travel on limited notice
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing, injection molding, or previous quality experience
  • Corrective action and / or problem solving experience (preferred)Knowledge of SPC, calibration, measuring equipment or devices(preferred)
  • Required to take a written test and a hue color test (scores do count towards position awarded)
  • A stable work history
  • Must have flexible hours and be able to work in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 40 LBS
  • Must know how to read receiving labels and know how to verify them
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts and overtime as needed to meet internal and customer requirements
  • Attendance must be in good standing
  • Must complete a new employee orientation (if applicable)
