Job description

FindTalent is partnering with a leading utility construction company to hire an experienced Transmission Project Manager for high-voltage transmission line and substation projects across Texas and surrounding regions. In this role, you will lead the successful execution of utility-scale transmission projects from initiation to closeout. This position offers the opportunity to combine strategic project leadership with on-site engagement, ensuring that critical infrastructure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end execution of high-voltage transmission line and substation projects, including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, and closeout.

  • Lead cross-functional teams including engineers, construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors to meet project objectives.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure all projects comply with applicable safety standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.

  • Interface regularly with clients, utility partners, and internal stakeholders to provide project updates, resolve issues, and align expectations.

  • Oversee project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFPs, and compliance records.

  • Coordinate resource allocation, equipment logistics, and material deliveries to maintain workflow efficiency.

  • Monitor job site progress through regular field visits and reporting to senior management.

  • Lead efforts to optimize cash flow through efficient billing, cost tracking, and forecasting.

  • Mentor junior project team members and support their professional development.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven ability to manage high-voltage transmission and substation projects, preferably 69kV to 500kV.

  • Strong understanding of transmission line construction, EPC delivery methods, and utility standards.

  • Expertise in project management tools, cost control systems, and construction scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

  • Demonstrated success in managing subcontractors and vendor relationships.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a client-focused mindset.

  • Ability to lead teams in both office and field settings.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Experience/Education:

  • 7+ years of experience in construction project management, with at least 4+ years focused on transmission or substation projects.

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.

  • OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
