Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity (GMHFH) seeks a motivated and hardworking individual to serve as our Construction Project Manager. Location: Lamoille & Chittenden Counties, Vermont

Department: Construction

FLSA Status: Full-Time Salary, Exempt

Schedule: Monday-Friday with some Saturdays required

Reports To: Director of Real Estate and Construction

Supervises: On-Site Volunteers

Pay:  $65,400 - $75,400


Overview:

Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity (GMHFH) is seeking a full-time Construction Project Manager to build homes in Lamoille and Chittenden counties. This role oversees all phases of Habitat home construction, from permitting and excavation through occupancy. Retired builders are encouraged to apply.


Responsibilities:

· Review development of site plans and respective building plans with appropriate third-party experts

· Establish timeline for construction and manage expense budget.

· Solicit and procure building materials through vendor bidding process and through donations.

· Supervise all on-site construction volunteers, with a strong emphasis on safety and participation.

· Coordinate with Construction Volunteer Coordinator to ensure proper staffing and track volunteer hours and waiver paperwork.

· Work with Director of Real Estate and Construction to apply, secure and close all required permits and inspections for municipal and state compliance. 

· Support the Family Services Coordinator with the final walk-thru/inspections with partner families. 

· Hire and oversee subcontractors.

· Oversee all aspects of Habitat home construction, from the excavation phase to home occupancy. 



Requirements:

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

· Management and hands-on experience on a variety of residential construction projects, including ability to stay within budget and complete a project from start to finish.

· Ability to read and use construction drawings.

· Familiar with building and energy codes 

· Ability to schedule and prioritize multiple work activities at once.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with various constituents, as well as co-workers and leadership.

· Strong leadership and motivation skills to work alongside short-term volunteers.

· Ability to keep a professional demeanor with a variety of individuals, including on phone calls.

· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

· A current Habitat OSHA safety certificate or the willingness to complete that training. 

· High School Diploma

· Five plus years of construction experience 

· A can-do attitude and a sense of humor!


Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to be present in all areas of job site in all types of weather, which may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.

· Must be able to lift 50lbs or more. 

· Requires travel to the jobsite across Chittenden and Lamoille County

· Exposure to typical construction site hazards


Compensation and Benefits:

Starting salary range: $65,400 - $75,400. Starting pay is based on the successful applicant's background and experience. Benefits include a health reimbursement plan, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 20% staff discount at Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity ReStores.
