Welcome Center Liaison / Front Desk Receptionist
Houston, TX Campus
DEPT: Fuller TX ("FTX") and Welcome Center
HOURS: Up to 20 Per Week
STATUS: Non-Exempt
FT/PT/TEMP: Work Study
WORK MODE: Texas campus (in-person only)
REPORTS TO: Chancellor of FTX and Associate Director of Enrollment
Brief Description:
This role supports the mission of Fuller Theological Seminary in receiving all guests, visitors, and inquiries at the front desk as well as online through phone calls and email communications. This role also assists prospective students, current students, graduates and guests in exploring Fuller Seminary's graduate programs and offices through multiple communication avenues including in-person, phone, email, chat, mail, and event interactions. They offer gracious customer service to and help guests navigate their visit, connecting them to the correct office and helping all feel welcome. Additional duties may be determined by the chancellor.
Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to a hospitable environment by providing exceptional customer service by establishing the "first-face" of Fuller
  • Respond to in-person, email, telephone, Snap Engage Chat, online, and mail inquiries
  • Assist customers in locating Admissions, Advising, and other offices at FTX
  • Advise a diverse group of prospective students regarding various degrees, programs, and purposes, recommending programs compatible with various personal interests, and ascertaining high prospects
  • Initiate and strengthen relationships with various departments and professors on campus in relation to position's tasks
  • Give campus tours
  • Work campus and virtual events as needed
  • Input data into SRM, Google Calendars, and manage website content
  • Assist with duties including filing, mail, scheduling, and other tasks
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1-2 years customer service experience
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Self-starter with a desire for teamwork
  • Proficiency with web applications (i.e. Snap Engage, ClickUp, Google suite)
  • Basic website development skills a plus
  • Ability to type 45+ words per minute is preferred
  • Enthusiasm for Fuller and a strong motivation to serve the needs of a diverse
  • prospective student body including a large International population
Notes:
  • Must be a Fuller student and maintain Federal Work-study eligibility
  • Must be willing to abide by Fuller Community Standards
  • This is a fully in-person position, officing out of the Houston, TX campus
Pay Rate:
  • Hourly rate the seminary expects to pay: $19.00 per hour USD
