ROCKSTARS ONLY HERE WITH EXCEPTIONAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS, good camera connection for the interviews, Linked In with Photos and matching the the resume, ID's, copies of a bill to show they are local, etc Start Date: As soon as possible Duration of the engagement: 6+ months Location: Hartford, CT Position Summary The Aetna IT Delivery organization, part of CVS Health's Data, Digital, Analytics, Technology (DDAT) division, is seeking a Conversational AI Engineer specializing in IBM WatsonX Orchestrate AI technologies. You will drive the end-to-end user experience for a next-generation Conversational AI platform designed to support members and providers by accessing timely, accurate health insurance answers across digital channels. In this role, you will architect, implement, and optimize rich conversational flows using IBM's Conversational AI stack, while integrating enterprise data sources to deliver context-aware, trustworthy responses. You'll collaborate with product, UI/UX, and backend teams to define requirements, influence features, and ensure scalable, user-centric solutions. Key Responsibilities
  • Ability to design and develop AI conversations with responses coming from outside APIs via cloud function or integration with other systems.
  • Applying clean coding skills and best practices.
  • Collaborating with user interface designers and backend application integration teams to understand the mechanisms through which the conversational AI solution will be used and what is needed to fulfill intents.
  • Collaborating with teams and other developers to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain a chatbot.
  • Troubleshoot bots, debug, and deploy chatbots on various channels (voice/chat).
  • Leveraging AI, NLP Technologies and cognitive machine learning to develop chatbot applications.
  • Integrate chatbot solutions with multiple platforms.
  • Enhancing user effectiveness of the conversational agents with the help of advanced technologies.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of emerging technologies and analytics techniques and support the pursuit of business development opportunities.
  • Tuning and enhancing Speech to Text models.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years software delivery experience
  • 3+ years of Chatbot development experience with IBM WatsonX Orchestrate, or any other similar chatbot conversational AI tool (i.e Google Dialogflow CX, LivePerson, Amazon Lex, Kore.ai)
  • 3+ years training and improving intent recognition by curating the appropriate training data sets
  • 3+ years applying Conversational AI best practices (e.g. NLP and training data best practices)
  • 1+ years of experience in CICD, Git, unit-testing and source code management
  • 1+ years of knowledge of cloud development and deployment principles
  • 1+ years of Backend (server-side) development experience in Java, Node.js, or Python
  • 1+ years of Multi-language experience in Javascript/Typescript
  • 1+ years of working in an Agile environment, with knowledge in DevOps approaches, end-to-end software development processes and business requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior work with IBM Watson Speech-to-Text, Watson Discovery, or similar voice processing and information retrieval technologies.
  • Familiarity with SSML (Speech Synthesis Markup Language) tagging for TTS refinement
  • Experience integrating unstructured data sources (e.g., document searching using semantic embeddings) with conversational agents
Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience required.
