Job description

Sprinkler Project Manager - Fire Protection and Sprinkler Systems - Base Salary to 100k/year - Somerset, NJ

  • Our client is an established provider of commercial fire protection services serving customers throughout New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. They specialize in the design, installation, inspection, maintenance, and service of fire protection systems for commercial and industrial facilities.
  • They are seeking a Sprinkler Project Manager to estimate and manage commercial fire sprinkler installation projects ranging from approximately $500,000 to $3 million. This position is responsible for preparing installation proposals, reviewing construction documents, coordinating sprinkler system layouts, and managing projects from concept through completion. The role is primarily based in the Somerset, NJ office with regular travel to project sites throughout Northern New Jersey. Hybrid flexibility may be available after successful onboarding. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:20 AM to 4:20 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for commercial fire sprinkler installation projects.
  • Manage commercial fire sprinkler installation projects from award through completion.
  • Review blueprints, project specifications, and construction documents.
  • Perform material takeoffs and labor calculations.
  • Coordinate sprinkler system layouts and design activities.
  • Schedule labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Interpret and apply NFPA standards, including NFPA 13, and applicable AHJ requirements.
  • Support permitting activities and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, inspectors, contractors, field personnel, and customers throughout project execution.
  • Monitor project budgets, labor utilization, material costs, and overall project progress.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation using Profit Zoom or similar project management software.

Qualifications:

  • Project management or similar experience required.
  • Experience with commercial fire sprinkler installation estimating and project design.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards and commercial sprinkler system layouts.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 13 and related codes.
  • Experience using AutoCAD or comparable sprinkler design software.
  • NICET Level I or Level II Water-Based Systems certification.
  • Experience coordinating with project managers, inspectors, contractors, and other trades on active job sites.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work from the Somerset, NJ office with regular travel to project sites throughout Northern New Jersey. Hybrid flexibility may be available after successful onboarding.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Northern New Jersey.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 7:20 AM to 4:20 PM.
