Job description

Description

LOCATION: This position is remote, but must be located in one of the following states: Texas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee or Virginia.

Clearwave Fiber, a 100% Fiber Optic Internet provider offering business, enterprise, and residential communications services, is expanding its network across the Midwest, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast. Formed from the merger of Point Broadband and Clearwave Fiber, the company is backed by GTCR and Berkshire Partners. Our team of more than 700 colleagues is committed to delivering the most advanced technology and customer service.

Job Description

Clearwave Fiber is seeking a Manager, FP&A and Reporting to own the company's recurring financial and operating reporting end to end. The role sits under the Vice President, Finance, manages the FP&A Reporting Analyst, and is accountable for the monthly reporting cycle, the planning calendar, and the systems and data flows that produce management, Board, sponsor, and lender reporting.

This is a build role. The company is standing up a single reporting stack across two legacy platforms, and the reporting that exists today is too manual to scale. The successful candidate will replace manual rekeying with defined, repeatable refresh workflows, set the definitions behind reported metrics, and get the cycle to a state where a competent analyst can refresh the full package without reverse-engineering it. Ownership of the outcome matters more than years of tenure.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Own the monthly reporting cycle end to end, including the management reporting package, Board and sponsor reporting, and the supporting variance commentary.
  • Own the planning calendar and the planning system of record, including input collection, version control, and department-level budget and forecast review.
  • Build and maintain automated data flows across the ERP, planning, and BI environments so recurring reporting refreshes on a defined workflow rather than manual rekeying.
  • Own operating metric reporting, including subscribers, passings, penetration, ARPU, churn, and headcount, with documented definitions and a single source of truth for each.
  • Produce departmental budget-to-actual reporting and support department heads on forecast accuracy and cost control.
  • Manage, review, and develop the FP&A Reporting Analyst / Associate, including quality control over their output before it reaches senior audiences.
  • Apply modern AI tooling, including Claude, to automate reporting, documentation, and quality checks.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive FP&A, financial reporting, or corporate finance experience, including direct ownership of a recurring monthly reporting cycle.
  • Hands-on ownership of a planning or reporting system such as TM1, Anaplan, Adaptive, or Pigment, and of a BI environment such as Power BI or Tableau. Consuming reports built by others is not the same as owning them.
  • Demonstrated record of building or rebuilding a reporting or planning process end to end, rather than maintaining one that was inherited.
  • Advanced Excel, including the ability to build and audit reporting workbooks and models that others can follow without explanation.
  • Experience managing, reviewing, or directing the work of at least one analyst, with accountability for the accuracy of their output.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Ability to hold multiple close and reporting deadlines at pace without loss of accuracy, and accountability for numbers presented to management, the Board, and sponsors.
  • Clear written communication, including the ability to explain a variance in terms an operator can act on.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience at a private equity-backed or capital-intensive business, particularly fiber, cable, telecom, or other infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite, TM1, and Power BI.
  • Experience with lender, covenant, or securitization reporting, including data tape preparation.
  • Experience consolidating reporting across two systems or entities following a merger.
  • Familiarity with subscriber-based operating metrics and roll-forward reporting.
  • Demonstrated use of modern AI tools such as Claude to automate analysis, reporting, or documentation.

Benefits:

Clearwave Fiber appreciates the role our associates play to help the company grow, and in return an excellent benefits package is offered to our associates to recognize the importance of their contributions, such as:

  • Competitive pay PLUS lucrative bonus plan
  • Medical, dental, and vision plans - begin upon start
  • Up to 20 days of PTO
  • 10 Paid Holidays
  • Life insurance (self, spouse, children)
  • Paid time off
  • 401(k) - 100% company match (vesting and matching starts upon hire, up to 4% of eligible compensation)
  • Employee Assistance Plan
  • Employee Referral Plan

Pre-hire Assurance:

Rest assured, Clearwave Fiber prioritizes the safety and security of our associates and customers. Job offers are contingent upon successful background checks, drug screenings, and reference checks. Once cleared, embark on a fulfilling and rewarding career journey with us.

Equal Opportunity Employer:

Clearwave Fiber is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
