Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Vehicle Structures, Systems & Components, Northern CA


An established manufacturer of heavy-duty transportation equipment and is one of the largest and most established manufacturers in North America, has an immediate need for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer at their recently completed a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Northern California.


This position offers outstanding compensation, a very generous benefits package, and relocation assistance to one of the country’s oldest wine regions located in Northern California and is home to a number of world-renowned wineries. The area has a Mediterranean climate with hot/dry summers and mild/ cool winters.


Our client is prioritizing engineers who bring strong structural/suspension design expertise, analytical depth, hands-on manufacturing experience and the ability to own designs from concept through production.


This role is highly visible and hands-on, requiring someone comfortable wearing multiple hats and contributing across the full product lifecycle from initial design and analysis through production.


Keys to the Position:

  • BS in Engineering
  • 5+ years of mechanical Design/product development in heavy-duty vehicle industry (trucks, automotive, automotive parts, buses, off-road, EV, farm equipment, RV's or related)
  • Strong involvement in structural design, suspension systems, steering, and vehicle components a plus.
  • Experience with FEA, stress/structural analysis, durability, and validation (DVP&R)
  • End-to-end product development: design → release → production → field support
  • Experience with change control, REIs, PCOs, BOMs, and DFM/value engineering
  • Expertise with materials and structures (steel, aluminum, weldments, castings) and 3D modeling
