Job description

Location: Fern Park Developmental Center
Positions Available: Full Time, 7pm-7am & 7am-7pm

Fern Park is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse (LPN/RN) to join our team. We support individuals with intellectual disabilities in a home-like setting and are looking for professionals who are committed to providing high-quality care.

As an LPN/RN at Fern Park, you will be responsible for delivering healthcare services in accordance with facility policies, the Nurse Practice Act, ICF/DD guidelines, and applicable state standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Share important health information clearly with other team members, both in writing and in person.
  • Safely give medications, including controlled substances, following doctor's orders and facility rules. Keep accurate records of all medications given.
  • Keep the medication room clean, organized, and secure at all times.
  • Keep track of medical supplies like medications, g-tube formula, diabetic supplies, and oxygen equipment to make sure nothing runs out.
  • Write down and follow doctor's orders correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Provide daily care for individuals with medical needs such as g-tubes, colostomies, oxygen use, and diabetes.
  • Act quickly during medical emergencies and provide first aid when needed.
  • Attend all required trainings and learn the skills needed to give safe and effective care.
  • Take part in regular checks and reviews to help improve care and ensure safety.
  • Help with investigations when unusual events or accidents happen by sharing information and supporting follow-up.

This position has access to protected health information (PHI) for the purpose of providing service and supports to individuals in the facility and has authorization to disclose PHI as outlined in company policy and procedure. Any unauthorized use or disclosure of PHI will result in disciplinary action, up to, and including termination of employment.
