Job description

  • Location 3 Bushey Ln.,Essex Junction, VT, 05452,United States
  • Base Pay $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 / Year
Who We Are

Perfect Zero is a fast-growing parts supplier serving both consumer and business customers, built around a modern tech stack and a B2C and B2B sales model that’s still being refined. Launched at the start of the year, PZ is the retail arm of a well-established, ten-year-old precision manufacturing company — giving you the pace and ownership of a startup backed by the stability and infrastructure of a mature, profitable parent company.

This is a build-it-yourself opportunity: you’ll be the first dedicated accounting hire at PZ, working closely with General Manager and the parent company’s CFO and Controller as you stand up the accounting function and make it your own.

The Role

We’re looking for an Accounting Manager to own day-to-day accounting for Perfect Zero — accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory accounting, reconciliations, and monthly close — with guidance and oversight from our parent company’s Controller and CFO. You’ll start close to the transactional work of a growing e-commerce business, and as PZ scales, so will your role and responsibilities.

This isn’t a static bookkeeping seat. It’s a chance to build the accounting function for an e-commerce business from the ground up, develop deep cross‑functional accounting experience, and grow alongside a company that’s investing seriously in its financial infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own day-to-day accounts receivable and accounts payable for Perfect Zero, across both consumer and business customer channels.
  • Manage inventory accounting across Perfect Zero’s e-commerce systems, including reconciling inventory to the general ledger.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and support most, if not all, of the monthly close process.
  • Prepare financial reporting and analysis to support decision‑making as PZ scales.
  • Partner with the parent company’s Controller and CFO on process design, controls, and reporting standards.
  • Provide accounting depth across the combined companies — an opportunity to broaden your experience beyond a single business.
  • Help identify and implement process improvements as PZ’s order volume and complexity grow.
What We’re Looking For
  • 2–6+ years of progressive accounting experience; e-commerce, retail, wholesale/B2B, or inventory‑driven business experience strongly preferred.
  • Comfort owning a full accounting cycle with a growing degree of independence — from AP/AR through monthly close.
  • Experience with inventory accounting and reconciling multi‑system data (order management, warehouse/fulfillment, and accounting platforms).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; CPA/CMA track a plus but not required.
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable operating with real ownership in a lean, fast‑moving environment.
  • Excel proficiency required; experience with modern e‑commerce, order management, or warehouse management platforms is a strong plus but not required — we’ll train on our systems.
Why Join Perfect Zero
  • Ground‑floor opportunity to build and shape the accounting function for a growing e‑commerce brand.
  • A clear runway to grow your role and scope as the business and its financial infrastructure mature.
  • Backed by the resources, stability, and mentorship of an established, profitable parent company.
  • Hybrid flexibility — collaborative in‑person time balanced with remote flexibility.
  • Full benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance; 401(k) with company match; monthly bonus program; paid time off and sick time; a robust holiday calendar; on‑site gym access with a personal trainer; and weekly on‑site occupational therapy.
Job Type

Full‑time, salaried, exempt. Hybrid schedule based in Vermont. (on‑site collaboration with occasional remote flexibility)
