Overview

The Manager, Engineering is responsible for the supervision and support of the OVG technology strategy across the OVG enterprise. This will include assisting with leading, development, deployment and support of multiple systems and environments, including maintenance and enhancement projects utilizing a variety of legacy and new computing architectures. The Manager of Engineering is responsible for ensuring all strategies are met and assigned projects are implemented on time and within budget, maintaining open communication with the respective customers, executive stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction, and building the organization by taking an active role in supporting the careers of the people within the organization.

This role pays an annual salary of $130,000-$155,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities
  • Provides oversight and direction Enterprise Technology Infrastructure is operating optimally to meet the company's goals and objectives.
  • Manage vendor/outsource relationships to support technology needs for OVG operations.
  • Implement and support in developing Global IT standards.
  • Oversee engineering resources planning, project planning and execution, maintenance contracts, and any technology changes.
  • Ensure the technology solutions meet the requirements of the business and contractual obligations.
  • Ensure documentation remains up to date and build continuous improvement into documentation process.
  • Provide point of contact for complex environment issues (4th level escalation).
  • Coordinate and align with Enterprise Technology leadership on projects and initiatives.
  • Serves connection point in Enterprise Technology by establishing effective working relationships with the business unit and technology personnel in a way that demonstrates understanding of business problems/goals, technology strategies, issues and priorities.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with business unit executives and stakeholders, helping focus engineering team on satisfying the requirements for products and services.
  • Responsible for the measuring and implementation of company policy and practices.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact with staff members in an open, honest and positive manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Participates/contributes positively to work/team environment.
  • Continually seeks ways to enhance contribution to the team.
  • Interviews applicants and in doing so, assesses the applicant's technical ability to perform the essential duties of the position.  Makes recommendation for hiring staff.

  • Conduct periodic meetings to provide training on proper techniques and services, updates on company news and developments, and guidance and resolution to workplace issues. 
  • Prepares staff performance evaluations.
  • Makes recommendations for promotional opportunities when available.
  • Monitors quality of work performed.
  • Maintain status, records, logs and evidence of performed work as appropriate.
  • Manages implementations and coordinates with executive management of vendors, contractors, and consultant organizations supporting the delivery and maintenance of IT systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Information Technology, preferably in a mixed technology global enterprise.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to manage time effectively and produce work on schedule.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Awareness of technology trends, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
  • Proven ability to implement technology plans that align with business objectives and drive measurable results.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
