About the Role

CoreWeave is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager, Electrical Engineering to lead the design and delivery of critical electrical infrastructure supporting our rapidly expanding data center portfolio. In this role, you will oversee electrical engineering efforts across new builds, expansions, and upgrades, ensuring our facilities meet the highest standards of reliability, scalability, efficiency, and operational excellence.

You will partner closely with internal stakeholders, external consultants, vendors, and construction teams to drive electrical design strategy, establish engineering standards, and ensure successful project execution from concept through commissioning. This role requires occasional travel to data center sites and project locations.

What You'll Do
  • Lead electrical engineering design initiatives for new data center developments, capacity expansions, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Manage the design and implementation of mission-critical electrical systems, including substations, medium- and low-voltage distribution, emergency generators, UPS systems, battery plants, and fire alarm systems.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve electrical engineering standards, design guidelines, and best practices across the data center portfolio.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Center Operations, Construction, Real Estate, Network Engineering, and Project Management, to ensure cohesive infrastructure planning and execution.
  • Review and provide technical oversight of design drawings, specifications, calculations, and shop drawing submissions from consultants and contractors.
  • Partner with third-party engineering firms, vendors, and equipment manufacturers to ensure compliance with Basis of Design (BoD) requirements and company standards.
  • Support project planning activities, including budgeting, scheduling, resource forecasting, and risk management.
  • Ensure all electrical designs comply with applicable codes, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety practices.
  • Develop electrical monitoring and controls strategies, including integration with EPMS and SCADA platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to improve design processes, operational reliability, efficiency, and maintainability across the data center fleet.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence.
  • Support commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities for new infrastructure deployments.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience designing, developing, or managing electrical infrastructure within mission-critical facilities, data centers, or similarly complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including substations, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, battery energy storage systems, power distribution, and fire alarm systems.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, high-density data center environments and cloud infrastructure deployments.
  • Familiarity with Emergency Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, control sequences, and monitoring protocols.
  • Proven experience managing complex engineering projects through design, construction, commissioning, and handoff.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
  • Industry certifications such as Uptime Institute, BICSI, or similar are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to data center sites as needed.
