Typical Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in safety administration within an electric utility, water utility, or closely related industry. Public sector experience preferred.
Experience leading tailboards, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and emergency operations procedures. Experience working directly with or supporting field crews, demonstrating credibility and a strong understanding of operational work groups. Education/Licenses/Certifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene, Public Administration, or a related field.
In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an associsate degree, completion of a recognized apprenticeship with journey-level status in a utility-related trade, industry-recognized technical certification with training in a utility and eight (8) years of experience in safety administration within an electric utility, water utility, or closely related industry may be substituted. Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid Oregon driver's license is required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Construction Safety Training, OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training, OSHA 7505: Introduction to Accident Investigation, ICS 100 and IS 700 certifications are required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire. Professional safety certifications such as Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Loss Control Professional (CLCP) are preferred. Ability to obtain certification as a CPR/First Aid Trainer, Forklift Trainer, and other certifications as identified by the organization.
