AES Drilling Fluids is seeking a Billing Specialist for our Houston Office. Reports to the Billing Supervisor and is responsible for securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring receivables are tracked and monitored pursuant to generally accepted accounting principles and issues are properly communicated to internal AES customers and management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Gaining an understanding of the well billing life cycle.
  • Become familiar with product and service reconciliation.
  • Be able to identify inconsistencies in tickets and rig file.
  • Creates invoices based on inventory control system reconciliation and customer price list and processes invoices according to customer preferences.
  • Verify proper Sales Tax applied to invoice.
  • Verify customer documentation requirements.
  • Corresponds with Account Managers regarding billing issues.
  • Completes customer drilling fluid recaps, as requested.
  • Complete Invoice Submissions based on customer preference.
  • Review and ensure that invoices submitted in portals match customer requirements.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED with higher level education required.
  • Working toward or achieved associates or higher level degree in accounting or business is beneficial.
  • One (1) year of work experience in a professional environment is preferred, with related experience in billing and accounts receivable beneficial.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (including strong Microsoft Excel skills) and Outlook.
  • Previous experience with ERP software is beneficial.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and multi-task.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all organizational levels, internally and externally.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and mathematical skills, with the ability to research accounting issues and prepare/analyze data, figures, and transcriptions and calculate figures and amounts.
  • Ability to strictly preserve the confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary AES information.
