We are seeking a highly motivated, versatile Flying Dutchman Race Team Performance Mechanic to join our performance automotive team in Franklin, TN. This position supports drag racing while performing race car maintenance, classic car restoration, performance engine assembly, diesel equipment maintenance and general shop operations. This role is responsible for ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance while supporting day to day shop operations and race event activities.
The ideal candidate takes pride in producing exceptional work, maintaining an organized workspace and representing the team with professionalism both in the shop and at the track. This role requires flexibility, strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, and a willingness to work evenings, weekends and travel when race schedules require.
General Responsibilities
• Prepare, maintain, inspect, and repair drag race vehicles
• Provide trackside support during race events, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and restoration work on classic and performance vehicles
• Assist with performance engine assembly and related mechanical work
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and support equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, brake, suspension, and drivetrain systems
• Maintain shop equipment, tools, inventory, and a clean, organized work environment
• Accurately document completed work and communicate project status
• Support team members and contribute to a positive, high-performance work environment
Work Schedule + Benefits

• Travel: Evenings, weekends, and travel when race schedules require

Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in automotive repair and diagnostics
• Knowledge of high performance vehicles and drag racing preferred
• Experience with classic car maintenance or restoration
• Diesel repair experience preferred
• Performance engine assembly experience preferred
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work under vehicles for extended periods
• Ability to work in varying shop and outdoor conditions
• Willingness to travel and work evenings or weekends as required by race schedules
