Job description

The Hermitage Club, an exclusive, private member-owned ski resort in Vermont’s Green Mountains, is seeking a Snow Surfaces Manager to lead snowmaking and surface operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for delivering exceptional snow conditions and supporting world-class member experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct snowmaking and grooming operations
  • Supervise, train, and schedule snow surfaces staff
  • Monitor weather and adjust production strategies
  • Maintain snowmaking systems, pumps, compressors, and guns
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, inventory, and repairs
  • Collaborate with Mountain Operations, Lift Operations, and Ski Patrol
  • Promote safety, accountability, and high performance
  • Year round trail and slope management.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of snowmaking and grooming experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of equipment and  snowmaking systems, including pumps, compressors, and snow guns.
  • Familiarity with snowmaking software and weather monitoring tools is preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Comfortable working long hours in extreme winter conditions, including cold, wind, and snow.
  • Ability to operate snowmobiles and other equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the snowmaking schedule.
