Reporting to the Pharmacy Operation Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the confidential organization, coordination, direction and profitability of the Pharmacy department. Our ideal applicant will be committed to developing an excellent reputation for health care on both a personal and organizational level, and will demonstrate genuine interpersonal and communication skills along with efficient dispensing skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the function and role of a pharmacist.
  • Provide a high level of confidential pharmaceutical care, as well as added-value customer services consistent with the standards delineated by Pharmacy Operations.
  • Comply with all government and professional standards and regulations that applies to the pharmacy department.
  • Plan and schedule staff requirements according to sales projections. Adhere to and maintain approved consistent buying and selling policies and practices.
  • Responsible to adhere to merchandising standards as developed by the Pharmacy Operations Manager.
  • Direct in the implementation of confidential sales and promotional programs.
  • Adhere to the confidential pricing strategies, policies, practices and familiarity with all lines of merchandise carried, as well as new products and market trends.
  • Follow and execute all approved confidential marketing and promotional programs.
  • Properly maintain all department assets (fixtures, equipment and facilities).
  • Accurately and efficiently administer the transfer of merchandise, stock levels and inventory takes, purchase orders, pricing, invoices, credits, claims, the safekeeping of cash (and other media), and all administrative areas not specifically referred to in this document.
  • Organize, direct and coordinate operations of the Pharmacy Department to achieve budgeted goals.
  • Directly responsible for employee relations, while upholding confidentiality in areas of employee relations (including hiring, training and development, performance management, and discipline), security, and administration of policies, procedures and WCB claims.
  • Establish and maintain strong, efficient, and productive working relationships with approved professionals, business organizations and internal/external company representatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSc. Pharm)
  • Licensed and registered with Alberta College of Pharmacists
  • Minimum of two (2) years Pharmacy experience
  • Superior patient relation with a strong sense of professionalism
  • Authorization to administer medications by injection
