SCOPE OF THE POSITION

We are looking for a Learning and Development Manager who is excited to step into a newly created role and will own and shape the learning ecosystem, by designing and delivering learning experiences that support both frontline employees and leaders at all levels, and partnering closely with Regional HR and Managers to create onboarding experiences that set employees up for long-term success.


This is a highly visible role with real influence, ideal for someone who enjoys building things from the ground up and working closely with business leaders.

ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Design Impactful Learning Programs

  • Build and deliver learning and development programs aligned toConeTec'sbusiness, safety, and performance goals
  • Create structured learning pathways that support career growth across technical, field, and leadership roles
  • Continuously evolve programs based on feedback, business needs, and workforce data

DevelopInclusive and EffectiveLeaders

  • Design leadership and management programs for new, emerging, and experienced people leaders
  • Partner with senior leaders to strengthen people leadership and inclusive leadership capability and effectiveness
  • Support succession planning and internal talent development

Strengthen Field & Technical Capability

  • Develop practical,jobrelevanttraining forfieldbasedand operational teams
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, and subject matter experts to ensure training reflects real site conditionsand aligns with standards.
  • Support consistency andknowledgesharingacross regions

Own the Learning Management System

  • Build and manageConeTec'sLMS
  • Establish metrics to assess training effectiveness, ensure learning data isaccurate, accessible, and meaningful, trackcompletion and learning outcomes.Use insights to refine training design
  • Prepare reports and present finding tosenior leadership

Partnerwithon Onboarding & Talent

  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to designhighqualityonboarding programsandcontent at all levels, ensuring new hires-both field andofficebased-have a consistent, engaging, andwellsupportedstart
  • Contribute tothe design and deliveryof DEIB initiatives


SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


Experience Requirements

  • Proven experience designing,deliveringand evaluating the impact oflearning and development programsin a global organization, ideallyin the resource(Exploration, Mining, Oil and Gas),extractive,constructionor adjacentsectorswith exposure toboth field andoffice-basedroles.
  • Strong backgroundcreating and implementingleadership developmentandpracticalfield-basedtraining programs
  • Experience implementing or managing a learning management system (BambooHR is an asset)and content authoring tools
  • Adept to supporting both officebased and fieldbased teams
  • Ability to connect learning outcomes to business results

Technical Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Adult Education, or a related field
  • HR or adult learning certifications (CTP, CTDP, facilitation credentials etc.)or other professional learning certifications considered an asset
  • 7+ years ofprogressiveexperienceassessing learning needs, and building training programs for global organizations that are growing
